Navel oranges

They can be purchased throughout the year, but they are best during the winter months, from November to January.

Oranges from the Valencia variety are best for juicing


Most of the juices that are sold are made of oranges from the Valencia variety. These oranges usually do not have seeds (may contain up to 7) and are delicious to eat, but are also particularly suitable for making fruit juice. Unlike the Navel oranges, they can be purchased for a longer period of time, and are tastiest from October to January.



Surely you have noticed that in the markets you can find different varieties of tangerines. Ones have orange peel, do not have seeds, are larger, and are good for eating and squeezing juice.

Others have a lighter color, have seeds and are more acidic compared to larger tangerines. The more acidic tangerines contain an ingredient known as synephrine in their composition, which is used in various products for weight loss.
